CHANGES / TOUR CANCELLATIONS

The Extra Mile may make reasonable changes to the itinerary and/or accommodations due to unforeseen circumstances, weather conditions, and other situations beyond our control. We also reserve the right to cancel any tour should it be deemed necessary to do so. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, the option to transfer is offered or a full refund will be made.

DEPOSIT / PAYMENTS

A $750 deposit is required upon initial registration. The balance is required no later than 90 days prior to tour departure. Any registration with an overdue final payment is subject to cancellation in accordance with the cancellation policy below. Late registrations (within 90 days of tour departure) can only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment.

CLIENT CANCELLATION / REFUNDS

Cancellation prior to 90 days before tour departure results in loss of deposit. Cancellation outside 45 days but within 90 days of tour departure results in a cancellation fee equal to 50 percent of the tour price. Cancellation 45 days, or less, prior to tour departure results in a cancellation fee equal to 100 percent of the tour price.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT

Accommodations are based on double occupancy. The single supplement applies to those who would like a single room. If you are traveling alone and wish to share accommodations we will match you with a roommate. If a roommate is not available you will have to pay the single supplement. The single supplement is subject to availability. Generally, each room has private facilities however it may be necessary to share bathroom facilities with another single.

RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that a participatory adventure tour like that operated by The Extra Mile exposes participants to risks and dangers beyond those experienced during normal work or home life. I agree to voluntarily accept these risks and dangers. I further agree to release The Extra Mile and its agents from all liability arising from my participation in the tour. This release of liability includes personal injury, illness, emotional trauma, property damage, extra travel expenses, and loss of enjoyment.

Trip Cost Includes
  • Expert leadership of The Extra Mile trip leader.
  • All activities and entry fees mentioned in the itinerary as included
  • All accommodations as noted in the itinerary
  • All meals listed as included in the itinerary, starting with dinner on the first day and ending with lunch on the last day. (B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner).
  • All land and boat transportation, airport transfers for passengers on recommended flights.
Trip Cost Does Not Include
International airfare; internal airfare from Queenstown to Nelson (see separate cost above); transfers for independent arrival or departure; any meals not specified after each itinerary day; airport departure taxes; optional activities; optional gratuities to leaders or staff; additional hotel nights necessitated by airline schedule changes or other factors; pre-­trip expenses of medical immunizations (if any), travel insurance, or passports and visas; and other expenses of a personal nature (alcoholic beverages, laundry, etc.).

Trip cancellation Insurance
We highly recommend that trip members purchase trip cancellation insurance. The insurance premium must be paid at the time of final payment or earlier.
